Ringo Starr

Ringo Starr (né le 7 juillet 1940) a été, de 1962 à 1970, le batteur du groupe britannique The Beatles. Il poursuit depuis une carrière en solo.

J'aurais voulu pouvoir écrire des chansons, comme les autres - et j'ai essayé, mais je ne pouvais pas. Je peux trouver les mots justes, mais quand je pense à un air, les autres disent toujours que ça ressemble à telle chose, et une fois qu'ils me l'ont montré, je vois de quoi ils parlent.

La chanson With a Little Help From My Friends a été écrite spécialement pour moi, mais il y avait un vers que je n'aurais jamais chanté. Ça disait « Que feriez vous si je chantais faux ? Vous lèveriez vous et me jetteriez vous des tomates ? » J'ai dit, « Il n'y a pas une putain de chance que je chante ce vers », car on avait encore plein de souvenirs d'enfants nous balançant des jelly beans et des jouets sur scène ; et je pensais que si on ressortait à nouveau, je ne voulais pas être bombardé de tomates.
